Stop waiting for others to change so you can feel better.
If you think: “If only they did x, I would be okay.” This subtle victim mindset keeps you waiting for someone else to apologize, notice, or finally change, so you can feel better.
Moreover, every time you say:
“I have to.” “I had no choice.” “They made me feel guilty.”
…you’re unknowingly training your brain to believe you’re powerless. And the moment your brain buys that story, it starts acting accordingly.
That’s exactly where your power leaks out.
You don’t need months of therapy to stop feeling stuck.
You just need to catch the language that is keeping you there.
“I have to go” tells your brain you’re trapped.
“I’m choosing to go to this meeting because I want to ask for support” tells your brain you’re the one deciding. Same event, two different people showing up to it.
You can’t set a boundary while your own language is telling you that you don’t have a choice.
This is the piece that has to move first.
Also, if another person is not changing, you can be resentful, or you can get your power back. Click below to see how.

Learn the SIX ways women unconsciously give up power in conversation, from the obvious (“I had no choice”) to the seemingly justified (“If they only behaved differently…”). You’ll learn why each pattern keeps you small and exactly what to say instead.
You’ll identify your victim phrases across real situations, see the emotional cost, and practice turning them into empowering language.
Your cheat sheet for catching yourself mid-sentence. When you hear “I have to” or “they made me,” pause, breathe, and reframe it on the spot.
